One of the more interesting type of boxes are clamshells.
They are formed from a single piece of wrapped die-cut greyboard.
Two middle creases fold the box, while indent allows easy access.
Relatively thin greyboard and single piece construction makes these boxes one of the cheaper option of rigidboxes.
Clamshells are made out of 1-1,2mm greyboard.
Automatic production allows dimensions anywhere from 50x30x15mm to 350x210x30mm
Because of the way they are kept closed, clamshells shouldn’t be thicker than 3cm.
